March Op-Ed
Next time you find yourself seething with frustration at the state of affairs in Washington, take a moment to consider how you vote. Too often, we fall into the trap of believing that lawyers, doctors, and other highly educated professionals are the only ones fit for political office. But it's time to wake up and realize that while these professions may excel in their respective fields, they do not possess the qualities needed to lead a nation.
Sure, lawyers can argue a case and PhDs excel in an academic setting, but can they truly understand the struggles of the working class, the blue-collar workers who keep our communities running? Can they relate to the challenges faced by everyday Americans, the ones who work tirelessly to put food on the table and provide for their families?
It's time to recognize the value of a different kind of leader – one who has walked in the shoes of the working man, who has served their community, their state, and their nation, who understands the needs of the people because they've lived them. We need leaders who have a deep connection to the grassroots, who are driven not by personal ambition but by a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those they represent.
I served my community, my state, and my country with pride and dedication. Every day, I wake up ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work, just like I've always done. I may not drive the fanciest car or wear the finest suits, but my hands are callused from years of honest labor, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
In addition to my community work, I continue to serve as a chaplain, providing support and comfort to those in need. It's a role that has taught me the true meaning of compassion and empathy, and it's an honor I don't take lightly.
In the crowded field of Republican candidates vying for the CD6 race, I stand out as the most connected to the community. I understand the struggles and concerns of the people because I've lived them. I bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the table, unencumbered by the influence of special interests or personal agendas.
My commitment is to represent the community, not my ego. I believe in putting the needs of the people first and working tirelessly to ensure that their voices are heard in Washington. Together, we can usher in a new era of leadership, one that is built on integrity, transparency, and a genuine desire to serve.
So, the next time you cast your vote, remember that it's not just about choosing the most educated or the most eloquent candidate. It's about electing someone who has the heart, the grit, and the dedication to lead us forward. It's time to put our faith in the blue-collar leaders who have proven themselves through their service and continue to serve with integrity and humility. Let's elect leaders who truly understand the struggles of the people and are committed to fighting for a better future for all.
I am Chris Hyser, I stand ready to continue my service and I will not let you down.
